Targeted Services to SexworkersWalsall Street TeamsStreet Teams offer help, advice and support to women working in prostitution,
in and around the Walsall area. They give free advice and support on
any issue or problem including going to court, sexual health, debt advice,
housing, benefits, counselling, drug issues, exiting prostitution and
safety.
Addaction WalsallOffers a community-based harm reduction service for people involved with
problematic drug and alcohol use. The project team provide a Young People's
Service, needle exchange, assessment, one-to-one therapeutic advice,
support and onward referral as necessary. An outreach service for women
working in Walsall's sex industry operates in conjunction with the NHS
sexual health agency, SAFE. Safe ProjectThe Safe Project is a mobile outreach project for women working in the commercial
sex industry in and around Walsall, Sandwell and Birmingham. They provide
a free, confidential, safe and discreet service on issues such as sexual
health, drugs, housing violence and aggression. They also run a drop-in
service in partnership with Addaction.
Local Support Services for Young PeopleWalkwaysWalkways offer a free confidential counselling information and support service
to 11-25 year olds. Young people can contact Walkways if they need someone
safe to talk to about pregnancy, sexuality, general health, drugs and
forced sex.
Electric PalaceElectric Palace is based in Bloxwich, Walsall and offers a free confidential,
non-judgmental service to young people. The staff are there to help young
people in whatever way they can.
Family Planning and Sexual HealthWalsall Family Planning ClinicThis clinic offers free, confidential, friendly advice on contraception services,
emergency contraception, condoms, Sexually Transmitted Infections, pregnancy
testing and counselling for continuation or termination of pregnancy.
The clinic is open six days a week, Monday to Saturday with flexible
opening hours. Telephone or drop-in to book an appointment or to obtain
advice.
GUM: the Manor HospitalSexual Health Services at the Genito-Urinary Medicine Clinic (GUM) are provided
for anyone worried about Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) or HIV
(AIDS). Advice and treatment is offered to anyone, whatever their age
and no one will tell anyone that you have been there.

or have experienced domestic violence. SAYASAYA is a help line offering support, information and advice for victims of domestic
violence whose first language is not English. There is an answer phone out of
hours. Victim SupportVictim Support offers emotional and practical support to victims of crime.

Local Policy MakersWalsall Responsible Authority Group (RAG)Walsall Responsible Authority Group is the multi-agency statutory partnership
set up to tackle crime and disorder. It is made up of representatives from West
Midlands Police, Walsall MBC, Walsall Heath Authority, West Midlands Probation
Service, the voluntary sector, the local business community and Walsall Borough
Police Operational Command Units. In consultation with local people the RAG has
also identified nine priority areas -anti-social behaviour, domestic violence,
business crime, vehicle crime, domestic burglary, prostitution, racial crime,
drugs and alcohol and crime affecting young people.
